Open Access Information and Policy
Trends in Scholarly Publishing is dedicated to promoting the objectives of open research and assisting authors and funders in achieving a high level of openness with their research. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) . Authors retain copyright of their work. In practical terms, this means:
- Trends in Scholarly Publishing provides free and unrestricted access to the full text of all published articles, ensuring that the research is available to everyone, everywhere.
- The reuse of published material is permitted, provided that appropriate accreditation/citation is given to the original publication.
- TSP supports open access publication with no submission or article processing charges (Zero APC). Publication is completely free of cost for all authors, and this policy is monitored by the Asian Council of Science Editors (ACSE).
In short, the open-access format of peer-reviewed literature allows for free and unrestricted access without any subscription or payment requirements. Published materials are immediately accessible and can be reused without special permission, as long as a proper citation to the original publication is given.
Third-Party Content
Authors are responsible for securing permission for any third-party materials (e.g., figures, tables, or text) used in their articles. Such content is not automatically covered by the CC BY 4.0 license and may only be reused with authorization from the original copyright holder.

Benefits of Open Access for Authors
Publishing in Trends in Scholarly Publishing provides authors with several key advantages. Open access ensures global visibility and a wider readership, making research more easily discoverable and impactful across the scholarly community and beyond. Authors also remain compliant with funder requirements that mandate open access publishing, ensuring their work meets institutional and funding obligations.
Through the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0) , authors retain copyright of their work while granting broad reuse rights, including reproduction, distribution, and adaptation, provided proper attribution is given. This offers both ownership and flexibility in how research is shared.
By choosing open access, authors also contribute to a more equitable and accessible research environment, supporting the global exchange of knowledge across diverse regions and disciplines.
