This perspective article examines trust, transparency, and accountability as interlinked pillars of scholarly publishing, tracing their historical roots, contemporary manifestations, and emerging challenges. Understanding their dynamic interaction is essential for safeguarding research integrity and sustaining confidence in scholarly communication.
